If you want to live an independent life and make decisions for yourself, you are someone who wants to be in the driving seat. But there are people on the other side of the coin who seem to “go with the flow” and just let life happen to them. But what is the right strategy to life? Let's go through some ideas.
Do You Believe In Fate?
A lot of people believe that everything happens for a reason. And for those people that feel inclined to sit back and let life happen to them, they are, to an extent, a more relaxed sort of person. But you can also argue that these people are also more inclined to lie down and let life walk all over them. These are people who may look at their horoscopes and calculate life path number outcomes, because they like the idea of fate as it is predetermined.
Do you believe in fate? In one respect, it's a form of faith. Even if you don't believe in a higher power, believing in fate is a way of making yourself understand that everything is, to an extent, predetermined. And when you believe in fate there can be a light at the end of the tunnel. When things happen that don't go our way or we feel that they are proving to be too much for us, the idea that it's “here to teach us a reason” can be what keeps us going.
Should You Take Control Of Your Life?
When we have questions about why we are here or what we're meant to do, this can overwhelm us. A lot of people who have many ambitions in life that go unfulfilled can be frustrated that life isn't going their way. These people need to take control of their lives, but the big problem is that life may not go the way they want it to. As a result, this can mean that they grow frustrated or anxious with every passing year until it eats away at them. And it's something that you need to ask yourself if you want to take over your life. Ultimately you are in the driver's seat of your life and if you're not happy with the way it's going it's not always ideal to leave things to chance. But when you've been working so hard at something and it's not coming up the way you think it is, it's important to remember that life doesn't always happen to you but it happens for you. When we feel that things happen to us and it's too much, we can get depressed and frustrated in so many different ways. But we have to remember that these challenges are what life is all about.
Should We Control Or Go With The Flow?
As life is such a labyrinthine journey with so many twists and turns there is no one true approach to living it. Things will happen to us that are beyond our control and this means that if we are someone who is a controlling person we need to learn how to relinquish this behavior. Things will happen to us and it can be a good thing, and sometimes they can be so unbearable that we don't know what is going on and why this is happening. And when we have control over certain aspects of our lives, this is, to an extent, a form of self-preservation. We need to look after ourselves but we also need to be aware that things will take us down interesting avenues. In many ways, this is what life is all about. There is a saying "Life is what happens while you're busy making other plans" and when you focus on the big things, the small things can pass you by. If you spend the end of your life looking back with lots of regrets in terms of the big things you are none the wiser and you are not going to be happy for it.
Learning how to go with the flow isn't being lazy and letting life walk all over you, but it's about understanding that things will go in different directions and it's just important for you to be aware that this can happen. But at the same time, we need to learn how to be our own person. This means that we need to know what we want, but we've got to be at peace with the fact that sometimes things won't go our way.
