It's holiday party season and I know we can stress out over picking out our outfits so… I hope to simplify the process for you! I have put together classic and bold celeb-inspired options for all fashionistas to choose from this season.
For the gal that likes to stay warm and comfy in pants a classic option is slim-cut black pants, like riding pants or cigarette pants- I prefer ankle length to show off fabulous shoes. Try them with a tailored velvet jacket with a brooch or embellished sweater. A bolder pants option that Heidi Klum rocked (hers was Michael Kors) is a sassy black sleeveless or halter jumpsuit with a layering necklace and heels. See my sister pay homage to Heidi in this Laundry jumpsuit she found at the Neiman Marcus outlet for her Book Club Christmas party!
For skirt-lovers, think Mad Men or Pan Am and a classic lady can pull of a lace skirt and cashmere sweater or silky blouse with pearls or rhinestones. A bold Gossip Girl inspired look would call for a fun metallic skirt with a simple top and statement earrings. Check out Nordstrom.com to see a cool Haute Hippie sequined skirt that comes in taupe and black.
A dress is always a winner because it’s like one-stop shopping, no matching or pairing required! A classic yet modern option is a basic LBD with a fur vest and a piece of statement jewelry. I wore this Molly NY dress (bought for $10 at the Junior League WearHouse in Charlotte, NC) with a Romeo and Juliet Couture faux-fur vest to a neighborhood holiday party last weekend. A bolder choice is a jewel-toned number with a bib necklace or cuff bracelet. Cheers!
