My nails! With Impress. |
I love false nails (when they look real). I am totally for them when your nails are looking a bit troubled, or you on on the go and need a quick look. Here are my quick and easy rules when choosing fake nails.
1) Color. Does the color work with your skin tone. Some french nails will have a yellow undertone and others will have a pink undertone. Pick the one that works best with your skin and looks most realistic.
2) Do they bend? Most nails these days will advertise the fact that they can bend like real nails. Take note of this. If they have a decent amount of "wiggle room" they are more likely to last longer.
3) The type with the sticky thing vs. the peel off or glue on type. This is more of a personal choice, but I tend to go for the latter. I have found that the sticky thing makes the tips of your nails look fake. With the peel off or glue on brands, you are garanteed a clean tip.
4) Length. These are fake nails, so keep in mind that your real nail has to be much shorter than the fake nail. This being said, these are fake nails.... don't help them look fake by having them 5 cm long. Keep it simple.
5) Price. Stay within the $5-7.99 price range. You can find great nails at your local grocery store or drug store. They look great and you won't break the bank.
Here are some of the brands that I have used:
Revlon
Whether it is the Naturally chic line or not, you can't go wrong with Revlon's line of false nails. I have used them for years and they are always a great brand to fall back on if all else fails. They last forever and they look great!
Impress Press- On Manicure by Broadway Nails
I tried these out about four days ago and I love them. (I'm typing with them on right now!) I went for the french manicure, but the great thing about these nails is that they come is so many different colors and styles. They are extremely easy to put on and I haven't had to reapply! Oh and the packaging is super cute.
So go out and have fun... and if you don't like them, you can take your false nails off in a jiffy! False nails are fun and cute.
-Enjoy! Xoxo Jenna
