With the exception of foundation and powder (please, please
PLEASE go to a makeup counter to get color matched), finding makeup colors that
look fab on you is easier than you might think.
Blue and Green Eyes have it easier, because you can
pretty much get away with anything! Whether you are choosing an eye color,
cheek color, or lipstick, your skin tone allows you to wear it all well, so
don’t be afraid to go for it! Break out of the neutrals zone and add some pizzazz. You really can’t go wrong.
With that being said, if you put something on and you don’t like the way it looks, don’t wear it!
You have the freedom to choose from the vast array of colors available, and it’s all about what makes YOU feel beautiful.

Brown eyed/olive skinned gals, like myself, need not
despair. While it is true that we
should, in general, avoid certain shades of green, yellow and orange -they just
don’t work for us- we have plenty of other options. AND, we can rock a dark smoky eye
like no one else (hello Ms. Spears and Ms. Kardashian!). We can also use some
fun, funky colors, but in smaller doses, and with strategic placement.
Women of color are absolutely stunning in some dazzling
combinations. One of my favorites is gold and deep blue. Ahhhhhh. The effect is
lovely. The eye colors combined with the gorgeous skin color equals exquisite
beauty!
Great article. I do best with foundations that have a gold tone, because of my gold under tones.
