Beauty: Inspiring Images to Get You Out of Your Rut

I have been a professional makeup artist for 20 years, and even I get into a beauty rut at times. I can usually come up with something new for my clients, but when it comes to experimenting on myself, I get stuck...just like the rest of you.
Pinterest is one of the best inventions ever. I can get on there for hours, and I get such a charge out of the images I find.

I love the ombre technique used on her lips. It's a fresh new way to wear red lipstick, and it is very "in" right now!

This gorgeous gal has a classic smokey eye, but instead of the usual nude lip, she has glassy looking black. The effect is stunning. It seems like every cosmetic brand is selling "vinyl" lip glosses, but I just take carmex and mix it with some loose eye shadow, and it works the same way.

I love seeing redheads embrace their pale skin! This nude eye, orangey-red lip and cheek look is awesome.

This girl's eyes have been done in a technique I use a lot. She's got the classic black eyeliner, but a pop of color has been added to the inner corners of her eyes. Play around and use all sorts of bright colors. It's fun!

Fresh faced beauty is back in style! I love this gal's barely there makeup and bright orange lip. She looks put together and elegant, but not overdone.
