Farewell, Lincoln Center! |
It's that time of year again! New York Fashion week is here and has two new homes. The Lincoln Center has been home to NYFW since 2010, but the Supreme Court of the State of New York ruled it could no longer be used because it is a public park and apparently it violates the rules of a public park.
The new locations will be the Skylight at Moynihan Station, and Skylight Clarkskon Sq. It may seem inconvenient to have two different locations but it just shows the NYFW venues are starting to spread throughout the city. Some designers are choosing off-site venues to showcase their designs. I think this will continue to be a trend in future years.
The Spring 2016 show will be September 10-17, 2015.
Another new change is the official title is now New York Fashion Week instead of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, and the selection of designers are fewer.
But the city will be filled with new designers showcasing their designs at other venues, not associated with the official NYFW, but it still gives them a chance to be a part of this huge week and wonderful fashion extravaganza. Also it seems this is the year of reality stars making a debut on the runway.
New York is the place to be right now if you are a designer or if you just love fashion like me!
I can't wait to see the new looks for Spring of 2016! It's been years since I've attended NYFW, but let me tell you, it is always amazing! I can't wait to show you all my favorite looks!
Are you as excited about Fashion Week as I am?
